I’ve always wanted to run my own thing.
Not for the money or the flash or to slap “CEO” on my bio. Just because deep down, I’ve always felt like I had more to give. More creativity, more drive, more ideas than I could ever fit into someone else’s 9–5.
But like a lot of people, I didn’t back myself early on. I played it safe. Worked hard. Showed up. Got on with it.
And I remember, years ago, my dad once said to me, “You’ll never run your own company, you’re not cut-throat enough.”
To be fair to him, I think he meant it as a compliment. He meant I was kind. Empathetic. Not one to step on people to get ahead. But it stuck with me. Maybe it even lit a bit of a fire. Because here I am.
Origins was born from that moment.
It’s about proving to myself that I can build something. But more than that, it’s about creating a brand that helps other people believe they can too.
Jewellery’s the medium, but the message is this:
You’re allowed to take up space. You’re allowed to want more. You’re allowed to chase your own path, and you don’t have to be an arsehole to do it.
